The Ultimate Sun Valley Getaway

The Ultimate Sun Valley Getaway

Contrary to popular belief, Sun Valley is not just for the celebs.

Yes we know, people like Clint Eastwood and Arnold Schwarzenegger are among the elite residents of the famous ski town, but you don’t have to be a celebrity to enjoy all of the luxuries this popular Idaho destination has to offer.

If you’re looking for a sign that it’s time to take that vacation you’ve been talking about, look no further! This is it… and we’ve created the perfect guide for your ultimate Sun Valley getaway.

Unpack your bags at one of Sun Valley’s trendiest places to stay, Hotel Ketchum. Their unique style and dapper decor separates this spot from other hotels in the area. During your five star stay, take advantage of their on-site ski shop, heated outdoor pool and spa, and endless amenities.

After waking up relaxed and refreshed, head on over to The Kneadery for a homestyle breakfast you won’t forget. This morning hotspot is a classic Sun Valley staple that makes all their meals from fresh local ingredients and has been open for business since 1974.

Spend the rest of your day enjoying the world-class ski slopes of Sun Valley Resort. With hundreds of runs, and some of the most amazing views in the state, it’s the perfect way to enjoy the winter season, and truly experience the heart of Sun Valley.

Top off the night, with an evening at The Roundhouse. Warm-up by the fireplace and enjoy a four-course meal on Bald Mountain. It’s a one-of-a-kind fine dining experience and the perfect way to end a spectacular ski day.

With so many unique local shops, restaurants and more, there’s always somewhere to have a good time! But don’t take our word for it, GO! find out for yourself with a Sun Valley weekend getaway!

The Best Neighborhood Bars in the Treasure Valley

The Best Neighborhood Bars in the Treasure Valley

Take your friends to grab a drink and relax at these cool and casual dives

Every town has its collection of dives and favorite neighborhood pubs. Dive bars are the places that are the most fun to have a drink and where the nightlife comes out in a way that fancy steakhouses and upscale clubs don’t offer. They are the best in larger groups where you can get a dart tournament or a game of pool or shuffleboard going. Most of them will even break out the karaoke machine if you ask.

Here are some of the best dive bars in the Treasure Valley, with friendly folks, awesome games to play, and lots of laughs to be had.

Cricket’s Bar & Grill – East Boise

This friendly neighborhood pub is just outside the bounds of the Boise State student housing and recreation. Find Crickets just down Boise Ave across from Big Jud’s. In addition to the standards like darts and pool, Crickets has beer pong tables and karaoke.

Cricket’s Killer Drink Specials: Happy hour Monday – Friday 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM.

Extra Happy Hour Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, & Thursday 10:00 PM-12:00 AM.

The Barmuda Triangle – Downtown Boise

The Barmuda Triangle are three bars on Broadway, just down the road from the Boise State Stadium: Suds, End Zone, and R Bar. Complete the quests asked of you, and become a VIP Member of the Barmuda Triangle! (Don’t worry, it’s free. And fun).

The task the Barmuda Triangle Facebook page asks of the valiant residents of Boise seeking VIP membership is to post three photos of themselves on the Barmuda Triangle social media pages following these guidelines:

  1. Take a selfie at End Zone wearing an End Zone t-shirt (don’t worry, they won’t force you to buy one).
  2. Take a selfie with the R Bar logo on the board that reads the daily specials.
  3. Get a picture with the bartender on duty at Suds

The Dutch Goose – Caldwell & Garden City

Either location of the Dutch Goose has its own drink specials, parties, games, and special events. Whether its football, baseball, basketball, or UFC, they show the most anticipated games and fights on their screens with some of the biggest bowl parties in town. Go! on in for a pint or two and make some new friends at the Dutch Goose!

Whiskey River – Nampa

One of Nampa’s favorite neighborhood bars, Whiskey River is a cool place to relax with some live music and dancing while you sip a drink after a long day at work. Keep up to date with their social media pages for regular musical events and drink specials.

Redeye Saloon – Kuna

Fancy yourself a good dart player? Join the dart league out in Kuna, thanks to the help of Boise Darts, at the Redeye Saloon. Catch Happy Hour Monday through Friday, 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm.  A full menu of the best bar food is offered all week long with a breakfast menu Saturday and Sunday mornings.

McCleary’s Pub on State – Eagle

Technically, McCleary’s on State is outside the Eagle city limits, but just barely. The thing that sets it apart from the rest is the huge back patio with firepits, tons of different yard games, and an outdoor bar. McCleary’s is one of the best places for summer nights on the patio.

You really can’t go wrong with any of these neighborhood pubs. No matter where you live in the Treasure Valley, there’s somewhere close where you can Go! have a friendly drink and a round of pool with some of the nicest people you’ll likely meet.
