Dining Out On Thanksgiving

These Treasure Valley restaurants will be open to serve your family!

Thanksgiving is a time for family and friends to gather together and revel in the domestic traditions and processes that make the hearth and home what it is. Fewer human activities bolster peace, security, and union amongst family more than preparing food and sitting down together to eat and be grateful for each other.

But, let’s be honest, Thanksgiving can be just as full of work as it is full of joy. Cooking all that food is exhausting, takes up most of the day, and the pile of dishes it all leaves behind when everyone is turkey-drowsy could demoralize even the most seasoned dishwasher.

There is another way to renew the family cohesion, without the stress of preparing everything perfectly and having to clean up the giant mess afterwards.

Families go out to be together, celebrate a holiday or birthday, and have great food all the time. Why not Go! try having a Thanksgiving out?

Here are some of our favorite upscale locations around the Treasure Valley that are happy to make this Thanksgiving a memorable and joyful experience for your family.

Tucanos Brazillian Grill

Tucanos will have their doors open for your party to come in and have a Brazilian Thanksgiving! Or, if you find that you’d rather stay home after all, just not prepare the food, let Tucanos do the hard work for you. All you would have to do is go pick it up.  Whichever you choose, Tucanos’ Thanksgiving menu will make your mouth water! They will be offering two different options for their Holiday Meal Packages, both with several delicious add-ons. Check out their Holiday menu and place your order here

Barbacoa Grill

The grillers over near Park Center have made a tradition out of the Barbacoa Thanksgiving Buffet! On this day only, Barbacoa puts away their regular menu and only serves a special Thanksgiving menu. They are open from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM on November 28th for walk-in Thanksgiving meals, but if you want to make a reservation between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, you can choose your option of the Bloody Mary Bar or bottomless Mimosas. Make your reservations now!

Trillium highly recommends making a reservation if you want to be a part of their downtown Thanksgiving experience.

They will be serving Thanksgiving for all three meals of the day. Their regular menu will be served, as well as some traditional items you would expect on Turkey Day: roasted turkey with a delicious natural gravy, garlic whipped potatoes, wild mushroom stuffing, candied yams, and more, all done with the Trillium touch.

The cocktail and coffee bars will also be open and serving from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Trillium has your party covered for anything you could want this Thanksgiving!

Looking for more of a casual, low-key Thanksgiving? Then you will want to take note of the following places in the Treasure Valley that will be open for a relaxed experience for Turkey Day.

The Ram Restaurant and Brewery- Meridian Location

While the Boise location will be closed, The Ram in Meridian will be open on Thanksgiving at 11:00 AM with final seatings at 5:00 PM. The Ram serves great food, great beer, and will have TV screens where you can watch the Bears and Lions go head to head. The Ram in Meridian is currently taking reservations, and they fill up quickly, so get in touch with them now!

Shari’s Restaurant

Always reliable Shari’s Restaurant is one spot you could try for a casual Thanksgiving. Load up on the good stuff like turkey and sweet potatoes, and don’t leave without grabbing one of their world famous pies. And if you don’t want to eat the whole pie, just get it in milkshake form! No matter how you slice it, Shari’s will have you taken care of this coming Turkey Day (especially when it comes to the pie!).

Cracker Barrel

The homestyle breakfast, lunch, and dinner that Cracker Barrel serves doesn’t stop on Thanksgiving. Drop in to have a meal in-house with the whole family, or place an order for their Heat-n-Serve Holiday Meal To-Go. Get yours here . This way you and your family can remain home, but spend that time together in other fun ways besides skinning potatoes and washing dishes.

Family togetherness is still possible on Thanksgiving Day, even if you decide to Go! and have the food prepared for you instead of preparing it yourself. If you decide the dishes are just not your thing this year, try dining out on Thanksgiving.
