ALTERED LANDSCAPE

April 1 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

Acceleration. Stillness. Reckoning. Alignment. In his new symphony, Jimmy López-Bellido invites us to consider our past and present relationships with the natural world — and to imagine a future of harmony and balance. Written entirely in 2020, this new work paints a profound musical picture of the altered landscape we find ourselves in today. Then, travel to a familiar old landscape and experience the vibrant colors and spirited folk dances of Bohemia with Dvořák’s Violin Concerto, performed by Boise Phil’s own concertmaster, Brendan Shea.

Eric Garcia, conductor

Brendan Shea, violin

Gioachino ROSSINI: William Tell Overture

Jimmy LÓPEZ BELLIDO: Symphony No 3: Altered Landscape (Boise Phil co-commission)

Antonin DVOŘÁK: Violin Concerto in A Minor
