Attention, all dog lovers!
I’ve been walking my dog “LeLe” every day during my lunch break for the past week, and I have found some fantastic places I’d love to share with you.

First, I drive to Parkcenter and park my ride at the little turnout. You can copy these coordinates (43.599239, -116.187258) and put them into Google maps or Apple Maps, which will take you there. Once you find a spot to park, go west (left on the bike path) and enjoy the scenic view of our fresh flowing river and luscious green trees.

As you pass underneath the Parkcenter bridge, you’ll come to the first stop we like to call “Park Bay.” Here are the coordinates before you read (43.600556, -116.189038). LeLe loves to stop here, play in the shallow water, and get refreshed before we walk our 2-mile goal. Light-colored sand and water-tumbled rocks lay here and give sound footing for a pup to play safely in the water. The current isn’t that strong in this location, making it a perfect watering hole, and the sun around noon is right overhead shining down with the warmth of the day.

Our next stop on the list is “Shadow Bay” (43.601432, -116.190518). Shadow Bay is right before the small wooden bridge headed West on the trail and by far LeLe’s favorite! It has shallow water for about 60 to 70 feet into the river.
I call it Shadow Bay, though, because if you are neutrino sensitive like some of my lighter-skinned family and friends, you can relax in the cool shade right on the bank and still be within range to maneuver to your dog in seconds. In addition, this spot has more shady areas all along the bank with quick access right back onto the bike path.

Here are my two favorite little pieces of Puppy Paradise located close to Parkcenter in Boise. Stay tuned for more locations as the summer goes on. I hope to see you out there soon!
