Folks outside of the area may not know, but Idaho, particularly Boise, is home to thousands of people of many different cultures from all over the world. Linguistic diversity alone boasts at least 90 different languages being regularly and actively spoken in Idaho.
To celebrate and preserve this unique weaving together of cultures, Global Lounge is proud to present the World Village Festival in downtown Boise this June. Global Lounge is a non-profit organization devoted to the preservation and education of world culture, and is the City of Boise’s honorary ambassador to the world. These good folks are responsible for putting on all of Boise’s best cultural events, the upcoming World Village Festival being one of its crown jewels.
To be a part of this opportunity and celebrate Idaho’s diverse cultural fabric, GO! To Cecil D. Andrus Park (the park at the capitol building) at the following times:
June 21 – Friday 4:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.
June 22 – Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 p.m.
June 23 – Sunday 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
This event is FREE!
Don’t miss storytellers, dance performances, painters like Sector Seventeen and World Artist in Residence Amiri Osman working in real time, tons of musical talent including the legendary Mykal Rose with Sly & Robbie (headlining June 21), and food vendors serving up some of the tastiest cuisine from nearly every continent, and so much more.
Check out their promo video for last year’s event.
