Local Artist Highlight: Zero

The Boise rapper Zero is sharing his stories through his music.
Zero

I recently stumbled upon the great artist Zero and fell in love with the music he’s put out. He
tells stories through his songs and gets across the messages he feels. When you listen to his songs you can really feel how connected he is to his music and that’s always refreshing to hear.
I got the chance to ask him some questions and to start off he captivated me with his reply on
how he got into music.

He said “I got into music over loss. I was looking for a healthy outlet because, at the time,
drinking was the only outlet I had. I had been writing poetry and short stories my whole life, but as time went by, they only became darker. A good friend of mine, I call him my mentor Max
Pham Nguyen encouraged me to try and put some of the words behind an instrumental. The
change in energy was tremendous and the rest was a wrap.”

One of my favorite songs of his is “Suicide Letters” feat. Axiom Tha Wyze and Natalie Grace. I
asked him what his favorite song he’s made and he said it’s also “Suicide Letters” because the
walls all the artists involved had to break down to get those feelings out. He was also able to hear other stories from fans and people around him because of the song which amazed him.
The next show you can see him at is at The Parallel inside The Knitting Factory on January 25th.

It’ll be his album release which is a very exciting start to 2019! With that said you can expect a
lot of the learning he accomplished this year to show itself in 2019 and can see the best of Zero
as he stays on his path of telling his stories and helping others through these songs. Follow his
journey on any of these platforms!
