January 20th is a day dedicated to Turophiles or in an easier way to say, cheese lovers! That’s right, it’s a National Day for Cheese Lovers!
We don’t really know when cheese was invented, but we do know that it’s been around for 10,000 years and there is so much information on how more than 2,000 cheeses are made! Cheese contributes to so many great meals, from grilled cheese, mac and cheese, pizza, charcuterie boards, and many more! No matter the choice, there are different ways to celebrate National Cheese Lover’s day, and here is a list of local options to support!

Txikiteo
Located Downtown, Txikiteo offers an amazing Charcuterie menu with a Basque flare! These amazing cheese boards aren’t just to enjoy in the restaurant; bring your own board, platter, favorite vintage serving dish, or any flat surface really, and they’ll fill it with charcuterie for you to bring to your next party!
Chicago Connection
Chicago Connection gets a special mention for National Cheese Lover’s Day because they are known for the abundance of delicious cheese on their deep dish pizzas. This cheese has made an impact on the Treasure Valley as they have eight locations, three in Boise, two in Meridian, two in Nampa, and one in Eagle. If you love cheesy pizza this is the place to try!
Soup Kettle Grille
Sometimes we all want to go back to the basics and enjoy a delicious grilled cheese sandwich. Soup Kettle Grille offers delicious grilled cheese sandwiches with a flare. These include Jalapeno Popper Grilled Cheeses, Gouda Grilled Cheese, Buffalo Grilled Cheese, and more! Don’t worry, they have all the soups to pair with them as well!
There are many other cheese options but these are some of many! Visiting the listed places above is a great way to celebrate National Cheese Lover’s Day! You can also visit these places any day of the week.
