The Off-Road Stampede Summer Season Finishes With A Bang!
If you aren’t familiar with the Off-Road Stampede Series brought to you by The Go Agency, you’re missing out! The Off-Road Stampede is a UTV, ATV, motorcycle, jeep, or whatever you have, poker run through beautiful Idaho forests. This summer the series was expanded to include Fairfield and Idaho City. The original Off-Road Stampede was held in Garden Valley 3 years ago and due to the high demand for more races, The Go Agency decided to expand to other iconic mountain town communities. Let’s take a look back at the Summer season’s events.
This was the first time the Off-Road Stampede visited the small town of 408 and the ONLY city in Camas County. The event was a huge success selling out early with people coming from the Treasure Valley and Magic Valley to experience one of the longest trails of the series. The event kicked off and ended at the City Park, the perfect setting for people to enjoy the vendors and sponsors as well as live music from Darian Renee and Hollowed Collective. This trail reached a peak elevation of over 7000 feet with more than 4700 feet of elevation gain over the 55 mile course. With sweeping vistas of mountain tops still covered in snow to streams filled with beaver dams, this course had everyone oohing and ahhing.
Garden Valley is the birthplace of the Off-Road Stampede. Three years ago Keith Hughes had the brilliant idea that people would love to GO! Out and explore new trails as part of a UTV/ATV community event. The first year was a great success and has continued to build from there. The Garden Valley trail is no less beautiful than the Fairfield trail but offered a more hometown vibe with all of the shops and restaurants in Garden Valley. This trail also offered more access to riverside pullouts where riders enjoyed the beautifully clear Middle Fork of the Payette. There were signs that let riders know where good fishing spots were, views of waterfalls could be seen, and places to stop and enjoy the view. Weilmunster Park was the starting spot for the poker run and was filled with sponsors, vendors, riders, and a UTV washing station that served as a fundraiser for the local high school basketball team. Darian Renee and Mean Mary provided the live music and had the crowd dancing and enjoying a beautiful day in Garden Valley.
Idaho City, also a first timer on the Off-Road Series, seemed like the perfect place to wrap up the summer season. This small town is an old gold mining town that is full of history dating back prior to 1862, when it officially became Idaho City. You can still walk around and visit some of the original buildings of that era! With Main Street full of UTV/ATV’s and people checking out the little shops and vendors, all you had to do was picture horses hitched up instead of horsepower filling the streets to wonder how this old small town must have been. The Idaho City Trail was definitely a little more rugged and a little bit shorter than the previous 2 trails and was also a huge hit! People enjoyed the challenge and sense of adventure that Idaho City seems to still have. The whole community embraced the Stampede crowd and were involved in many of the activities and fun. The newly constructed band stage was the setting for the live music from Hollowed Collective and Rider Soran.
Even though the summer season of the Off-Road Stampede is done this year, The Go Agency is working hard to produce a Fall Season that will feature 2 more stops in Donnelly and Mackay. Final approval should happen in late July, so stay tuned for the next round of Stampedes coming to more iconic Idaho mountain towns.
